You&#039;re right, Priscilla. Hawai`i gives us plenty of opportunities to expand our working vocabulary. Other parts of the country have similar conditions -- for example, areas with large Hispanic populations. Pretty exciting!]]></description>

Every day I use several Hawaiian words and sometimes hear more on the nightly news. Living on an island places are described as toward the mountain or toward the ocean, maka or makai. Then there are two of my favorite foods loco moco and musabi. And sometimes we go holo holo. Pau!]]></description>
