Impressive research! I am descendant of William Nanney, Long Island, New York. I have been able to link Robert Nanny of Stepney, England, later Soco, Maine through a series of marriages including Wheelwright, Maybury, Hutchinson, and Lloyd. My 4th great grandfather George Nanney changed his name to Anway between 1810-1812. If you have come across anything more regarding a link between Robert Nanney and the Nanneys of Long Island, N Y. I’d appreciate hearing from you.

I have a Fanny Farmer cookbook, and have used it for years since the early 80s I have made so many delicious desserts over the years, this has always been by my side. This is the very first time I have ever read anything about Fanny Farmer, the woman. She was a true pioneer, way ahead of her time

It is on page 227 of volume 2 if that helps. It was after I read this that I looked it up and came across your article which I found very helpful in my own research

Aloha Sandra,
I agree greatly with what you said at the end, but understand, that the American bosses are the ones who push the Americans to work like crazy. Japan is even worse. European nations know to allow their workers a month off in the summer. Only our country and Japan expects them to work more and more and with nothing to gain from that. Especially the field workers and all that.
